Turkish and Kurdish Community Activists give a press speech with regards on going riots in Britain.
Activist condemns British police and media for trying to clash Turkish and Kurdish community with black and other ethnic minorities. They state that shop owners only defended their own shops against looters; however the media and police tried to publicise this in a manor that can clash ethnic minorities to each other. Also they have stated that the rioters who burn peoples homes can not be defended in anyway. However the rising riots are the voice of people who is in poor condition.

They also pointed out the media not condemning the racist EDL with the announcements they have made about rioters.

  • Who says this guy speaks for all the Kurds and Turks in Dalston?

  • @gravington This guy speaks behalf of 9 different charities that supports Turkish and Kurdish Community members. Plus if you watch the video, they are not condemning the shop owners who defending their premises or community. As you will watch they are condemning the government and police who brings out like Turkish people are against black people which can lead to an ethnic group fights in future.

  • @britannia247 I realise he's not condemning the shop owners and it's obvious that the Kurds and Turks have no problem with black people. There are black people eating in the restaurants and there is a black barbers and I think mini cab firm where the guys were guarding last night that was standing with them. But where does this idea come from that the government and the media are trying to divide the communities come from?

  • @gravington Its not idea, its a fact because the way it is publicised in social networking websites and news papers is like brave turks-kurds chased black people and another point is the day after this happen the police officers has came down to turkish shops one by one giving out a turkish traditional sweet cake and telling them they should not fair to use stuff to protect the area if they come back again. This is not something that community members to do....

  • @gravington we pay tax to police forces so they can protect our community in such event. put it in this way. if you as a person attack someone, that someone will attack you back. specialy if it is a gung got involved you should know they will do their stuff to take their revange from it

  • in Turkish Kurdistan (North Kurdistan) Kurds are being oppressed by the fascist regime.

  • fuck all rascists !!

  • turkey 4 best

  • @Polonium211 How do you know that he is Kurdish? He can be Turkish for all you know. Not that it matters, but I find it amazing how you can be so sure that he's Kurdish. And you can't just say it's a load of bullshit. On what basis do you label it as bullshit? Get out of your little fantasy bubble and you'll quickly notice much of it is far from bullshit.

  • That was courageous. People need to know the truth. Kudos to this man.

  • @britannia247 in islington turks and kurds are cool with the black people.

  • You should condem the rioters. If you care about your new country dont be so quick to bite the hand that feeds. If you were living in turkey this kind of political statement would be frowned upon. in fact it would land you in jail. You are just a washed up old angry lefty. I dont think you speak for all turks and kurd who in my experiance are quite happpy in uk. Get a job or go home

  • Thanks for posting this. If this is the considered view of the Kurdish community then I am shocked. To watch them shout their condemnation in one of the few countries in the world where they can then they are surely rather confused.

  • It's good to see a voice calling for calm between Hackney's various ethnic communities. The BNP, the EDL and certain vain historians who should know better have been setting the case for an understanding of the riots based on race rather than poverty. Don't get me wrong, I'm no apologist for the thuggishness and violence we've all seen. I'm just saying that I live in Liverpool and most of the rioters I saw were white lads from North Liverpool. It's not race - it's poverty.

  • I don't think that the police gun down people because of the colour of their skin and i think that aggressively shouting on the street is going to inform people in a negative way, not promote peace.

Our society is not a racist one. Yes there are racist people who need to learn the wrong they do.

For him to be able to stand on the street and talk the way he does with police standing by not doing anything says something. There are not many places in the world where this happens.
