  • Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed it.

  • I must admit I still prefer the Don Fardon version - even with the abbrieviated lyrics - this is too soft for my taste

  • the best version

  • I'm 1/4 Cherokee (the rest is Argentinian, Italian, and Irish).

  • Dear goldsmice

Thank you for your response. You are right. But the only people I met that were not fake where Native Americans. Even though some disliked me just because I am white the one's I met were honest and the best friends I have had.

You put your words in a very thoughtful way and I thank you for that. I guess there are nice people out there still.....

  • It's unbelievable how much improved the "pop" version of Indian Reservation by Paul Revere and the Raiders was. This is not exactly laughable though, it can be respected as the forerunner of the really powerful later version.

  • @sonjatxfh55 just remember, once upon a time, your ancestors were natives too...all human beings, at one point, lived the way the Native Americans do. All people once lived off of the land and prayed to elemental spirits. You shouldn't be ashamed of your ancestry or wish you were Native American...there is good in all peoples.

  • I wish I had native blood in me. I am not proud of what my ancestors did.

  • @chuckydoll691 My grandfather was full German and and Cherokee. I am quite proud to be of Cherokee blood also.

  • I like this so much better than the later hit versions. This is the way John D Loudermilk wrote the song. His version is the only other one I can enjoy now. Wonderful post!
