@CCNuck Lol "Karate Kops" - there's a 70's cop show that should've existed!

I'm not sure about other places, like Canada, but even when you take into account the fact our population in loads smaller, assaults on police officers are a lot less common in the UK that in America anyway. So they very rarely need anything more than pepper spary/tazers. (We do have armed police though, for more serious stuff)

@CCNuck They have pepper spray these days, but generally their training is more about not responding to situations over self-defence. We have special police with SMGs for certain situations.

I lived in Seattle when that samurai sword guy went apeshit. If you were walking down the street with that guy around you'd be happy the cops did what they did without blowing his brains out. Go down to Texas and that's how they would have dealt with it.

Your British cops must have amazing self-defense training. As a Canadian, I'm quite jealous. Are they armed with anything other than batons? Are they taught any . . . heavens, I don't know, martial arts?

@BartholomewBarty I KNOW RIGHT!  MAN (I'm American) I think that shit is SO irresponsible. Those people should be getting help not criminal charges. I hadn't heard about what WalterLiddy is saying, but those sorts of baiting-pedophiles-to-put-on-T­V types of shows happen all the time in this country, it's ridiculous
