Sheriff Jim Clark of Selma, Alabama, was responsible for several violent arrests of Civil Rights protestors, over the wishes of Selma mayor Joseph Smitherman, who wanted to bring industry to the town, and didn't want the negative publicity that violence would bring.

@lsloan0000, I am a 56 year old Norwegian and I have never bought anything on Amazon.com. The posting of the link is because I am a total Tom Lehrer fan, and I know that his stuff is best preserved if people buy that Norwegian TV-concert on a DVD :-) It is also a cheap way to take care of an important part of the American history of comedy.
