The first tune is definitely the bear dance. I think the second is a Bourée called Alfred Pommier.

Well I just checked Ken's video, and it's in a different key, but they are remarkably similar.

Weird...sounds a lot like the Danish tune Bear Dance Ken Kolodner plays! Click on my name and more from Poodlepups to see the video. Yours is a bit more simplified. It's probably a hybrid.
Don't know the second, I'll ask my French friends. So much for my high school culture lessons!

I've heard the first tune played at sessions here in Dublin, but don't know the name. Sounds like something they'd play down around Sliabh Luachra way. I'll ask at the weekend.
