Vonones ornata are a relative of our more familiar backyard daddy-longlegs. They are not spiders and they are not venomous. They fluoresce under blacklight and seem to do well in captivity on fish food. Mites and springtails are probably also preyed up and/or scavenged. A few captive produced babies are shown. Like whipspiders, these use some of their legs as feelers.
Nice ornamental harvestmen, especially under the black light. What do you feed yours? I have a pair that seem to thrive in my communal detrivore setup (with a bunch of various millipedes and isopods), but I've never specifically fed them anything, except for dumping dead crickets and fruits/vegetables in there. Also, anything special you do to get them to breed? I only have a pair, so I don't even know the genders, but I wont hesitate to add more if I come across any in the future. Thanks.
