US-Israeli assistance in South Sudan to affect Egypt Nile quota, experts say
Al-Taweel said Israel would support South Sudan in security and military affairs. Israeli strategic interests encourage southern unity and defense of its Nile-sharing interests, al-Taweel clarified at the recent Sudanese-Egyptian Relations Conference, held at Cairo University.
Al-Taweel spoke during a session entitled “Water Perspective in Case of the South Separation.”

Egyptian experts blame Israel and Mubarak for Nile Basin dispute
A pair of academics have blamed President Hosni Mubarak and Israel for their role in the Nile Basin crisis after a move by five Nile Basin countries to disregard Egypt and sign a new treaty organizing the exploitation of the Nile waters.
Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, all upstream countries, signed a pact earlier this year toward what they consider an equitable use of the Nile waters.
@antikackz When Lieberman called for bombing the High Dam and flooding Egypt, his remarks were undoubtedly motivated by hate. To this moment, the Israeli foreign minister hasn't apologised for his remarks, and Egypt is acting as if the whole thing didn't matter much. But now Lieberman is taking steps not to flood Egypt this time, but to dry it up.
According to a Western diplomat based in Nairobi, Israel wants to forge closer ties with the countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia,
