@Romanian97 With all due respect -- when you have put the tens of thousands of hours of study time into the Greek and Hebrew texts as this man has, THEN you can take issue (or disagree). Until then  perhaps a tad of humility and recognition of Mac's scholarship would be more appropriate.

@ltjgbadass ESV is practically a more literal translation from the greek, meaning everything is written straight out, the pronouns are written as they were in greek. The pronouns are capitolize, like the NKJV, or NASB. But it does give a better meaning of the word meaning from greek. If you buy an ESV and a strongs concordance and look up the word and find it in greek you'll see the meaning of the word. And let me tell you it's alot of work. Pastors might be under paid in a earthly sense.

THis is interesting I did not know that the Geneva Bible was a Study Bible,

I notice that their is two versions, the NKJV MacArthur Study Bible and the ESV MacArthur Study Bible. Which one is the better one please explain.

yes its a good bible but he tends to push his cessation agenda in the new testament notes, in which in my opinion the ESV study bible so much more better than MacArthur's bible, in order to keep up with competition he has a ESV version now.

I was thinking about getting his Commentary on the Bible. Besides the Eschatology, how was the rest of the Commentary? I've heard him preach a couple of times on Revelation and the rapture, so I know what you mean.

I have this bible but i rather trust the holy spirit to show me then someone else.. not to say that i go back in my study bibles to see if things click but some things in this bible i disagree with but thats ok.. everyones faith is not the same. as owning this bible i would give it 3 out of 5 stars. the one i got is a hard cover and its not in red letters and some commentary i just dont agree with. otherwise good starting tool but always trust Holy Spirit for the meat. GBU all.

Man, I'm exhausted just thinking about making a study Bible the way he did! I just bought his Bible commentary- it's so good. But I have to say that he really should stay away from eschatology- I was amazed at his lack of understanding and his adherence to this now mainstream "left behind" garbage. It was like reading a physicist talking about archaeology. Just my opinion.

i have the large print edition macarthur bible and i'm just wondering if there is a dust cover (case) for this size bible ?blessing geoff
