  • Fine Songs Marika!

    Aloha from Hawaii!

  • I believe she was half jewish

PS Himmler was a better dancer

  • she admitted that Eleonor Powell was a great influence on her style, so that seems to be correct...as to her films sustaining the Nazi regime, well, they aren't any more facist than a Busby Berckeley film..lots of goose stepping in those as well, or haven't u noticed?whatever the regime, people just wanted a good time in the cinema...so they got it..oh how fiendishly clever of those Nazi's...jeez..

  • I'm not denying the crimes against jews and opponents, I am simply stating that for dictatorship, Russia was much much more totalitarian than Nazi Germany, and also you could leave Germany if you wanted to, that was of course impossible in Russia.

Everyone knows why the germans met so weak resistance when they attacked Russia, although Hitlers folly changed that.

  • The truth is that the films - to say nothing of literature, press etc - was never in any sense as rigorously controlled as in Russia. Surprisingly few movies were strictly nazi.

As for gloryfying the 'germanwoman' the great movie star was Zarah Leander, neither blond nor german. Her films portrayed her as english, danish, russian etc, the germans didn't want a healthy blonde german girl as heroine, they wanted a 'foreign femme fatale', (although of course she wasn't jewish but swedish.)

  • She was extraordinaire, dancer-singer Madonna should have to born many thousand times to come close her quality, talent. This music was rage around the globe and NS regime gave full and permanent support to her and many other outstanding artist disregarding any prejudice on aledged swing, jazz or whatever music was it derived from. Like it now or not, the facts, is your problem. politics has simply nothing to do you with her success.
