@defensorfortis2009 your kidding me 42 should have opened up alot more then administartion positions of course you are talking about the airforce they like higher asvab scores. my score was 63 and i had tonsof MOS options.

Actually, one Coast Guardsman, Signalman 1st Class Douglas Munro, won the Medal of Honor for giving his life to evacuate Marines at Guadalcanal in WW2.

yes, the uscg operated the landing crafts for the navy to transport military personal during WW2

Good luck my daughter graduated from basic 3 weeks ago and loves it she is now in buffalo and wouldnt trade it for anything.

with a 42 you should have several options but i do not know for a fact. I had a 56 and had several jobs available to me. And I am also going to basic this tues. the 26

defen: try retaking the ASVAB, shouldn't be too difficult to improve a 42 with some work

i score a 42 on my asvab. the first branch i wanted to join was the air force, but the only thing i can do there is adinistration and i dont want to do that. is there any thing i can do in the uscg with my score. also, i used to be on medication for my a.d.d. does that automatically disqualify from the uscg? if not, what jobs could i get with a raw score of 42?

I was a Quartermaster ( now defunct rate) Navigator and SAR coordinator. They merged us with the deck apes...(BM's) no disrespect. Its a lost art form and I am proud to have been a part of it.
