I race Cervelos now and the buzz in a sprint at 35mph is similarly intoxicating.In 1976 I played from 10a.m. until 6p.m. and couldn't make it home I was so tired and hungry from missing lunch. All summer long i did that, seven days a week, talk about addiction.

@davidoffon one thousand years old, not 100, typo, 70 years ago, working men cycled from Athenry in Galway to Tipperary 90 miles away, played all day with the best players and cycled home in the evening, work on Monday. We are just softies in comparison, 6 day week back then. I saw this game when I was 11 and could not believe what I saw, the skill is so pure, when it's fast , it is astonishing.
