FedEx driver drives off the side of my driveway into the grass while backing towards the street. After getting stuck and being unable to free himself he calls for a tow truck.

The truck left a rut 50' long. 30' of that is over a foot deep with sod that is torn up and flipped over as the front wheel 'plows' the grass because it's cut over completely to the right.

He then left. No attempt to contact me or leave a not or anything. That day I had deliveries from USPS, Fedex and UPS so I wouldn't have been able to prove who did it without the CCTV.
Fedex was very quick to take responsibility and paid for a landscaper to come and fix the damage. We all make mistakes and the snow made it difficult to see where the grass started - I applaud fedex for getting this fixed so quickly.

Definitely glad I had the camera so I could figure out (and prove) how the damage was done. I only put this camera up a couple days before this in response to the suspicious pickup truck in the driveway. (posted as a video repsonse)

  • You must have a lot of time in your hands..you should walked your ass out and helped, rather than filming this with out his consent. You Suck!!

  • @japreece27 I suck? 1) I was at work at the time. 2) I don't need consent. - There is no expectation of privacy here.

  • As a fedex courier, if it ain't plowed and it ain't shoveled, you ain't getting your package today!!!

  • So......why dont you plow or mark your driveway so the driver knows where to go? I guess that would be more effort than complaining!

  • @ETA2359 im a ups man same concept, i aint coming if there is snow on the road, also this is a poor decision why didnt he just walk it from the clear road

  • @ETA2359 Thats correct, If your driveway is covered in snow and I cannot easily walk up to make the delivery your package will either get bagged and left in driveway or you will not get a delivery. If I walk up your driveway and slip and fall and get hurt I will get written up for a preventable accident, If i drive up and get stuck I will get asked why I drove up. It is a no win situation for us.

  • The driver should have weighed up the situation before descending an incline with the expectation of reversing out. Not only did this minimise his chances of getting out, but he also commited the cardinal sin of reversing onto a busy highway. Then emerges from the vehicle with his hands in his pockets and kicks about for a bit.

    Drivers fault.

  • He needs tire chains.

  • @skatecubed Nothing wrong with my driveway before that day. Nobody else had this problem in 10 years of living here, just this one guy. The driveway is clear and obvious even after a snow. I marked the driveway after this as a baby-proofing measure.

  • @Scruit so take responsibility for your screw up, mark your driveway and keep it clear for deliveries, put your tail between your legs, move on with life, and stop blaming other people for your oversights and shortcomings. It is easy for people like you to run around judging others faults (just look at your channel), but much more difficult to accept your own, Try not to throw stones in a glass house bud.

  • @Scruit you just don't get it do you, you are partly responsible for the situation, if you had even marked your long driveway, it probably would not have happened, it would not have happened at all if you had done your part and had your driveway cleared. I am a truck driver, I have refused deliveries, and loads for this, and many other reasons, not once, no matter how much a person like you whined, my job has never been at risk. I have had people made come get their package permanently.

  • @skatecubed I complain when they damage my property or throw the packages. Nothing else. If you refuse to deliver to my house on normal days because of that one time I caught your ass tearing up my property and sneaking away without telling me then you're not going be be in that job for much longer.
