I think people would appeal to atheists more if we came out and said that life itself is completely insane and overwhelming. Religious people are people of compassion and they wouldent see us as such cold hearted, strict and scientific people if we incorporate our philosophy in our argument.

I think he is going through a phase that every religious-to-atheist person goes through when they realize how arbitrary and absurd life is.
