Verizon unceremoniously dropped a buttload of phone books on my doorstep. After repeated attempts to get them to come pick them up, it was pretty obvious that their lackluster customer service people weren't going to help. So I decided to return them myself to Verizon/Idearc in Beaverton. The landslide on 26 made it a roundabout trip, but it was worth it. There are approximately 300 phone book companies in Portland, and these directories are nothing more than a waste of natural resources. No one I know has used a phone book since 1998. Companies like Idearc/Verizon should go back to Texas. Music is "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by the Shanes.

  • I am seriously bored. It's still playing. You need and editor. Jeebus.

  • "You need and editor." lol

  • @oregone Yes, I see the hilariousness. Thanks.

  • @dfugger2 I'll be the first to admit the above video is quite boring. In my defense, I think I was just learning MS Moviemaker.

  • @oregone No worries. I had just unsubscribed from the yellow pages delivery and was feeling all self-righteous and drunk. It's way better than any video that I've never posted!

  • Yes, I see the hilariousness. My bad. Still...

  • just because you think so does not make it a waste. keep your one sided opinion to yourself. books don;t take time to boot, they don't crash, or get viruses. it's not your money so it's not a waste untill people who pay for them deem so, which goes back to the fact that people use them.

  • theh advertisers who pay for those books do not think it's wastefull and neither does anyone else inthe process whom it helps their own bottom line and puts food on their table

  • @Fleckinstien, you sound like the type of person who would have picked up a set of books during the time they were dropped off and before oregone eventually cleaned up the remaining litter.

If Idearc had an opt-in policy, only those who wanted yellow pages, like yourself, would receive them, which would make oregone's life better without hurting yours at all. What a great solution to this problem.
