@tajk786110 I don't know if you're still interested in an any thoughts on this, but the word that makes Sikhism unique: Protection. Protection of the religious identity, beliefs and faith in God of ourselves and people around us. Protection of pride is why we wear turbans and why we want others to wear their hijabs and crosses. We believe that, believing in God, protecting our and others religions and not discriminating other ways of showing faith in God is what makes us unique.

The kesh(hair) is not an identity of a Sikh but rather an identity of humanity. They grow irrespective of any religion and they will keep growing no matter how much you try to destroy them. The reason why Sikhs keep their hair is because we love the creator and creator's creation. So the hair is part of this creation and we would like to keep it that way and message to those who comment silly things, you can never believe in god if you don't even accept god's creation.
