Operation of Hope is a volunteer surgical team that has changed the lives of over 2,000 children around the world...and counting. Each year, Operation of Hope travels to developing countries to perform cleft-lip and cleft-palate surgeries, as well as other types of facial reconstructive surgery for people in need. Beloved is the story of a young African boy, who at the age of 10, placed a land-mine in his mouth which accidently detonated. Operation of Hope met Beloved and his family in Harare, Zimbabwe in 2006 and has since taken him to the United States to perform what's called a "free-flap" surgery at the UCLA Medical Center in Westwood California. The result of this very successful procedure are shown in this updated documentary on Beloved.
