Here's my homemade warm water system for camping. I bypassed the water from an electric camping shower through a copper coil. The copper tubing I bought from a gas shop. It was very easy to bend into the coil shape. The tap water from the bucket warms quite nicely through this system. It takes the cold edge of the water. To make the water hotter recycle the water back into the bucket allowing it to then pass back through the coil. Great little system. Quite cheap overall. $30 shower including pump (from BCF) $15 butane gas cartridge burner (from K-Mart) $10 for the copper tubing (from Kleenheat gas) and $5 for some extra plastic tubing and $2 for some hose clamps (from Bunnings). All in all I'm quite happy with this system. I am looking at enclosing the coil and flame to stop wind blowing the flame out. Let me know what you think. Cheers guys.

  • how is this shower head / pump kit working out so far? any issues ? I found a similar kit on an asian website and wondering if it's worth the $50 price tag shipped, the water pressure doesnt too great from the shower head, was it set to minimum water flow dial maybe ?

  • good idea, but it would cost u a fortune in butane cans. maybe u should check out some vids on rocket stoves. gonna try it this may on my week long fishing trip.

  • @cdltpx An electric thermometer that has an alarm when desired temp has been reached this will save time and fuel once you reach that target and you have timed you will know exactly how long to burn and should only need a timer for future burns. I use to get 3 showers from 7 gallons of water so my estimate would be 2 gallons for a decent shower if you wet soap rense chest up,torso, leg, leg, then final rense. I was thinking of making an insulated hammock to use for bathing that would be cool?

  • I would first find out how much water you use for a shower. Once you target your volume I would then use an ice chest for the water heating task. I would have a thermometer to measure results and recirculate water till target temp is reached. Use a chest that is slightly larger so you can add cold water to reduce temp should you over heat. I would insulate all hoses to maintain all thermal gain.Place al foil loosely over your coil to insure better heating. Nice job I like your results.

  • You totally made this video on an Ipad :p
