0 A.D. Gameplay Video (2007)

0 A.D. is a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game in the same genre as the games Age of Empires, Sparta:Ancient Wars, and Rise&Fall:Civilizations at War.

The game is based on the years 500BC - 1BC and AD1 - AD500. In 0 A.D. Part 1, which is currently in development, the player will have 6 historical factions to choose from, each with unique artwork and gameplay. The factions include:

Carthaginians
Celts (Gauls and Britons)
Hellenes (Greek City-States and Macedonians)
Iberians
Persians
Republican Romans

0 A.D. is being developed by Wildfire Games (http://www.wildfiregames.com/0ad), an independent game development team made up of hobbyist game developers from all across the globe. The game will be release as FREEWARE in Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.

This video you see here is a gameplay video released on the 0 A.D. website in Q1 2007. Game development is at an advanced stage and will go Open Source late Q2 or Q3 2008.

This looks so great!!! :) I was searching for a game like this for years! I can't wait 'till it gets published... When will it be? Btw, I was (and still am!) a great fan of AoE serial... Very nice idea for making this game! Omg, this realy looks so so good. :)
