My Tamil neighbours celebrate Lord Ayyappa festival

Men draped in short lungis are the tribal Elephant owners from the forest of Kerela.The drummers are brought to play the traditional music.The priest performs the pooja.Tamil Nadu, Kerala,Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh(Southern India) celebrates this festival.Lord Ayyappa is the power that emanates from Shiva(supreme soul) and power of Vishnu(holy sound Aum) or Mohini.Sabarimala, Kerala is a famous pilgrimage destination blessed by Lord Ayyappa.

This festival is celebrated mainly by the (Malayalee) Keralite community in India. However our world has become a global village. Thus we now see in India all festivals are celebrated by all Indians. The rigid demarcation of region and religion are melting. This is a welcome change.
