This video documents part of my journey from work to the college in London where I take my jazz improv classes. Tonight was my final jazz performance for the year. I think this was my best performance out of the three we did over the past 9 months.

As band leader for this performance I chose and arranged this piece. There were a few stuff-ups with the drummer not being familiar with the arrangement (he wasn't at the practice so its understandable).

Anyway hope you guys enjoy the extra glimpse into London life (as requested ;)) and this final jazz performance.

  • Great fingerwork, but give it some more flair, love! There are times when your posture resembles an elderly lady crouched behind a steering wheel...

Lovely pianoness, though. Not a huge fan of the perc.

  • Yeh I have bad posture. Comes with the vocation (I'm a web developer). Sitting long intense hours in front of the computer all day isn't exactly great for posture.

  • Really enjoyed it!

  • Thanks. :)

  • That trumpet player ruined Autumn Leaves for me. ;C

    No offense, I just don't think he's at the level you are, which is strange seeing as how you're in a band together. xD;;

    You play AWESOME though. ^^

  • she's gotan aussie accent of the cultured/upper class variety

  • kazzart , i'm a beginner in piano, self taught, can't read notes and jazz is my fav topic... so what advice can u give me ??? need help... (-_-!)

  • @kazzart jeez you're a web developer AND pianist. hope you don't get wrist of finger complications (or eye for that matter) at an early age. Nice piano playing

  • You've got to love the accent :)

  • great inpiration to know that it is possible to get proper structured lesons in Jazz Improvisation. Kazzart has obviously gotten a solid foundation in basics and it can only be an upward trend from now.

Also quite entertaining to read comments about particular colored person playing music usually played by a subgroup of different colour

  • nice performance, especially on the piano and particularly coming from a lady jazz player. but what is it that attracts an Oriental person to a music genre originally created by the Africans and then developed by others in America? why as a Persian i have a thing for the Oriental culture as well as the African as well as the South American as well as ...

i guess the answer is clear: the only true international language is music, as well as the arts! (and don't forget the cuisine too of course!)

  • autumn leaves

  • because she is a "middle class" londoner (not that I'm into class but do see the reality),

  • She was born in london, thats why!

  • what is this song called

  • Agreed lol.
