I just purchased today a Duo-i combined iPod dock powered speakers with FM radio.
I like the setup but two dissapointments for starters.
When I play from my (1st gen.) iPod Touch, I get static "plops" like gunfire. Sometimes 1 per second, somtimes a few seconds nothing. I first suspected the connector, but touching or gently rocking the iPod does not stop nor start the plopping. At each plop the display of the iPod dims. (Needless to say, when playing the same iPod in other docks or docked to the iMac , not problems occur).

Secondly, the box clearly states "all models" iPod are supported. However there is no plastic holder that fits the iPod mini (nor is the mini mentioned in the manual).

Makes me tired. I want this modern stuff to *just work*.

  • @raymondleeleggs: yes, It proved to be the wifi. When turned off, the sounds disappear. So that means *no* internet radio with FlyTunes :-(

  • it might be that you are using a US type water closet.. If you replace it with a fashionable Dutch style `ligger`you won`t get ploppin sounds anymore.

  • The Ipof flickers whenever it pops' it could be sending a noisy signal to the stereo.

    There could be Interfereance somewhere.
