I have to wonder...what happens to the booms after they have absorbed the oil spill?

Oh my God. THANK YOU! I live in New Orleans and I have been trying to find something I can do to help. Since I know a couple of dog groomers and hair dressers, I know I can collect a ton of hair and fur. Thanks again for your concern for us down here, and thanks for the fantastic video!

I never thought nylons would be more useful rather than being used at dances and partys! :o

The hair sacks don't pan out. The only way to fix the situation is with that of heavy machinery and intense chemical sifting. There are going to be negative reactions from this, but in the long run its the only real way to fix it. If you really want to help the problem and prevent this from ever happening again, then stop driving your cars, and start physically pushing your government to invest in greater sources of power. That Hydrogen vehicle looks pretty damn swank, its exhaust? H2O!

Hey Great Idea. Im really stoked to see this is happening. I've done testes myself and have found the booms to be successful at absorbing the oil. However they should be tied together and attached to flotation devices to insure there success. They also seem to work better in calm water and even on shore. Def not to be pulled behind boats as they are still somewhat fragile. Unless maybe in burlap sacks.

the reason we are not useing the hairbooms is b/c when they tried the small testing here in florida were i lived and seen with my own eyes, that when the hair is left in the water for more then an hour the hair gets heavy and sinks, so now the big problem is people are doing this and its dragging oil to the bottom of the sea, and when they tried dragging the hair with a boat it just dispersed the oil in clumps and didnt collect any oil, so there for it only works in containers like this one lol

@rathat48, yes it is, but its not meant to come out of the ground in gallons, hair just rots away while oil will sit there for years

Increase oil absorbency by washing your hair before getting your hair cut.
