Very, very effective traffic clearing light!
-
When Mars created this light Ambulance were Cadilacs and Oldmobiles, they were lower to the ground, so they needed lights to go up to hit truck mirrors, intersections, and reflect off buildings on city streets to let traffic see lights before they approached!
-
@krazyjk022 They use takedown lights! The lights are different for the needs. The Mars 888 bounces high and light which the beams refelct of buildings and underpasses.
You people have no clue!
-
The larger versions looked great on locomotives, too. You could see those oscillating beams for miles on a dark night out in the desert. Mars made lights for all types of emergency vehicle and railroad applications, and was named for Frank Mars, owner of the Mars-M&M candy company. This is no joke. Frank Mars helped the struggling young inventor of this light with money and legal advice to get his light patented--Mars was a fire buff who hung out with firefighters and he loved the idea of it.

Like the comment below. This is the pattern of the Mars 888 from the drivers perspective. It's very effective! I'll film it for ya in the next day or so from the front of the car.. Imagine this light "bouncing" as it does through city traffic as you travel down the road code 3.
