VectorNav demonstrates its sensor fusion software called the Vector Processing Engine (VPE), using a VN-100 Rugged orientation sensor. The VN-100 Rugged can be operated as an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) or Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) and combines measurements from MEMS accelerometers, magnetometers, and gyros to estimate the attitude of the sensor.
Sensor Explorer, a GUI developed by VectorNav, is used to display the outputs of the individual MEMS components as well as the yaw, pitch, and roll angles estimated by the onboard Kalman Filter. The gyro-drift-free attitude solution calculated by the VPE provides orientation data over a full 360 range of motion.
