The People of Nigeria versus Shell (Nederlands)

14 mei 2008 - Milieudefensie, haar Nigeriaanse zusterorganisatie ERA en vier Nigeriaanse boeren en vissers stellen het hoofdkantoor van Shell aansprakelijk voor schade die olielekkages in hun dorp hebben aangericht. Want een Nederlandse bedrijf, met een jaarwinst van 27 miljard dollar, mag zijn verantwoordelijkheid voor de gevolgen van zijn activiteiten niet ontlopen.

I feel bad for these people. I really do. But you can't blame Shell for demolished pipelines. The damage is done by criminals and the Nigerian government simply isn't capable of arresting those criminals.

Well you can make money in a green way.

It's just the non green way is cheaper, simpler, easier and more money {larger market} (essentially for lazy people)

Also I know that in my lifetime fossil fuel will be there.

Going with one of these greens is a gamble, the green your on may fail, and a new green take it's place.

The problem is I'm born and raised in a oil world, we can't change until people like myself pass away, and the new (green) youth take our seats.
