Every year at UCLA there is a student singing competition where celebrity judges pick winners in various categories. There is a group of students that MC the event and put on a series of skits and videos to entertain the audience. This group is called "company", and they made this video. This group has no affiliation with the film school.

I'm sorry our amateur comedians hurt your feelings. We'll try not to exploit pathetic Trojans for simple humor next time.

Well, actually all those MEN's basketball and volleyball championships did help, but what puzzles me is that if USC, or any other university, had all of the women's sports that UCLA has, why were they not able to produce the championships? As far as the haters who made this skit, you guys must feel like a bunch of jackasses today. Last I checked, SC surpassed UCLA in most measures. At the rate that SC is rising, UCLA will have to try to compare itself to Pepperdine or CSULA.

In 2008, USC admitted 21% of applicants, while UCLA admitted 24%. Look up the profiles. In 2010 USC will likewise be more selective than the PUBLIC school across town.

I'll dismiss your racial slur of people looking "uniform" and enlighten you to the fact that UCLA is ranked #2 in the nation for socioeconomic diversity, if you're smart enough to figure out what that means. Your lack of erudition on the topic is disappointing.

Also, sweetie, I'm a professor at MIT, so you can quit belittling me with 4th grade humor. I have previously worked in athletic recruiting at a major D-1 school, so, yes, I do know a bit about scholarships.

Diversity extends beyond athletics. Athletics don't make or break a school, whether the football and basketball teams succeed mean little in the large view of things. And sweetie, don't believe the hype EVERYONE buys their players or bribes them, sports scholarships...heard of them. Social good? Wasn't talking about that...I'll be the first to admit that they have work to do. But you have to admit that the people of UCLA look rather uniform (if you know what I mean)...

I have a friend who admitted to me that she submitted her application for USC the day after the deadline, but "they said it was okay because my uncle, who is a big donor, called the admissions office for me."

That also doesn't explain why UCLA has so much less diversity that they got in trouble for it. It's funny really, people assume that the majority of students at USC got there because mommy and Daddy shelled out...USC has the highest amount of minorities and low income students out of almost anyone. Please don't be offended that USC is the one place you couldn't get in.
