This is one of the flights done in Baddeck on Sunday, Feb.22/2009. The replica of the original Silver Dart took off from the ice of Baddeck Bay like the flight of it's predecessor 100 years ago. The conditions were perfect with sunny skies & little wind. A thrill to the thousands of onlookers. Piloted this time by former Canadian astronaut Bjarni Tryggvason, it was wonderful to see the contrast between this aircraft & the jets that provided a fly-by at the same time. We've come a long way in aviation in 100 years.
