My dear friend Mac Tonnies has passed away. He was a wonderful person, and one of the bright young lights in paranormal research and thought. This is an excerpt from Radio Misterioso with our good pal Greg Bishop, from 2006, which we recorded live in the studio at killradio.org in Los Angeles while Mac and I were there filming Best Evidence: Top 10 UFO Sightings.

  • It's a shame to see one pass so young.

I disagreed with Mac on his "Cryptoterrestrial Hypothesis", but I agree with the intelligent machines and A.I. possibilities for the UFO phenomena.

I'm still kinda shocked. I've lost so many people in my life this year. Mac and I weren't friends, but it still rings home for me.

My condolences to Mac's family and friends....

    :(

  • Im grateful to have shared a timeline with Mr Tonnies.

His insights were a Gift, his passing a great loss.

He was a brother, not just genetically as we ALL are, but intellectually, he sought the answers WE all seek.

Words alone cannot express the loss we all share in his passing

  • @100francox i agree with the part where you say "I don't think" because its obvious to me that even my 3 year old brother is your intellectual superior.

  • Fuck. Now we all have to step up our games because this Genius is gone!

  • @GeneralCalCorph

Clowns like you are a laugh a minute. I don't think Tonnies was my intellectual superior anymore than you are General cough.

  • @100francox Yeah as opposed to other researchers that just make wild claims. CTH is by far more rational than telling everyone that ufos are from zeti reticuli. 95% of the ufo researchers are complete idiots that have never had an original thought in their lives. Maybe you should pull your head out of your ass and try using that gray blob of jelly rolling around in your skull before you try taking potshots at your intellectual superiors.

  • The cryptoterrestrial hypothesis is one of the dumbest ideas to be written down in a long time. This guy talks about all kinds of science without being educated or working in the science field. That should tell anyone that most of the conversation isn't based on anything rational. When are these people going to go away and leave the science to scientists.

  • I just found out that Mac Tonnies passed away, I was a reader of his Posthumanblues blog and I wondered why he stopped blogging, then just yesterday I read about his death in a review to his Cryptoterrestrials book on amazon, It shocked me.

  • I think the Cryptoterrestrial Hypothesis is as good as anything else out there.... I can't understand why it would be so "Earth shattering" for the UFO community, I feel it would be refreshing and keep minds open in the field... I wish I'd gotten to know Mac better, I only lived an hour away from him. Had a couple emails with him, guess it shows you must embrace life, Carpe Diem. Flights of angels, Mac.

  • I cannot watch these without tearing up again. What a bright light that has gone out of this world.

  • it was Mac and the rest of the sTaRe network that convinced me there is more to life than broadcast television. I'm still amazed at how much his death impacted me, even though I've never met him - and how much his blogging influenced my appreciation of culture over the years. rip mac
