"THE MARILYN YEARS" ('83-'97)
JIMMY JAMES as Marilyn Monroe interviewed on The Phil Donahue Show. This show was a major turning point for Jimmy and sparked the beginning of a career. This show brought him into the national and perhaps international spotlight. This show gave him the break that every performer hopes for. Years of touring followed.
Ten years later he would retire from his "Marilyn Years" to evolve and establish himself as a singer/songwriter in Dance Music. His current hit single "Fashionista" from the album 'Jamestown' is played in clubs and fashion shows all over the world.

  • Ha hahaaa They did get the chance to talk, the editor for this YouTube clip decided just to show my parts for my fans. I can't show the whole hour here. :)

  • What I find especially poignant about this is that the mists of time have parted for some of the older people, who actually suspend disbelief and believe Jimmy IS Marilyn.

  • I know. I wonder sometimes who that sweet lady was who said, "I swear that's Marilyn"

  • HI JIMMY..FROM COLUMBUS..LOVE U

  • WOW! Absolutely Fabulous. I worked at London's Madame Jo Jo's during its hay day. A sort of Moulan Rouge but with female impersonators. We had many Hollywwod Celebs drop in to see the show when they were visiting the UK. You would have been 'THEE' sensation if you had been in one of our shows and a smash on the London scene. Thanks for sharing. Love and luck to you.

  • I always remember watching these "female impersonator" shows and thinking they are gay. So what? People (older people) wanted to put them in a box such as, they are straight but only so this for night time work.

Or - they have a girlfriend. (Fag hag)

Don't they look good? The questions of the audience were typical of the time. Wow! We have come a long way!

  • Hi Jimmy, still consider having kids? Please don't say 'no, I'm too old' because that's not true. Adopt an older kid (or 2), There are plenty who aren't babies & would love a parent like you! Also, you must come to Phoenix!

  • Is it just me or did Phil totally get a bone for Marilyn? He wanted to take her backstage and give her his last natural erection!!!

  • Thank god attitudes are changing!

  • Real talent and humility.

  • I remember seeing this and never forgot Jimmy James. Amazing. You can also tell it's 1987 from all the inane questions the audience is asking. Sheesh!

  • no one can play Marilyn like you!!!

  • OH THAT'S A MAN?????
