I just started up a vlog here on youtube and I'm excited to get started... I've only put up a few so far and I'm linking them on my facebook so pretty much everyone knows I'm doing them. Honestly I think some of my friends are sick of hearing about youtube lol... But they seem to enjoy my videos

@WorkOnWellness "It's not like you are naked on the vids...: You thusly touch upon the ONE negative aspect of them. Even a little belly dancing ("gut-grinding") would be greatly appreciated...incorporated into a dream sequence? (TIC)

@gabsgobygab555 At first I was shocked...by your usage of 5 (!) exclamation points! But(t) then I realized that it was part of your stand-up routine...what?

no offense but i would dump his ass!!!!!

Only my husband knows I make videos, and he just thinks it's cool. I don't tell everyone I know because I think it'd make me feel vulnerable in some way. You'd think with the advent of Facebook and Myspace people would understand. Youtube is just like writing a note on FB, but with video instead of text. That's all it is. People don't think blogs are weird...but vlogs are still a bit misunderstood.

wow this touched me..... hey do you have another account now b/c i miss you on this one

this video is incredibly touching and evokes so much emotion. I hope you find a way to dispell all the negativity in ur life because its up to us who we keep in our lives and who we choose to let affect our persona. You're a lovely woman and Im glad i found ur channel!!

No one should ever make you feel wrong for letting your expressions be known. I pretty much disagree with everything your boyfriend said. Everything. I could make counter arguments but comments can only be a certain amount of characters. lol.
It's very unfair to be given an intervention for something like this. He needs to try it for himself. Either he attempts to see what you see or he stays quiet. That's the only way he wouldn't sound like he's on a high horse.

Sorry I also wanted to comment on the the whole internet thing and how long it has been around.
I think you have to think of it like those scales in the star sign libra.
Not having the internet in the world far out weighs the having the internet in the world so yeah I think it will still have some getting use to.
Also regarding the friends commenting on your own life it is like what my friend says to me when I comment "its none of there !@#$ business" unless you ask for there opinion.

I would make a video repsonse to this but my camera is broken.
This reminds me of people from My country NZ...
Sometimes doing something away from the grain of everyone else is far to much for them to handle.
I didn't tell people I made videos because in NZ we have tall poppy syndrom and when someone exceeds they need to be cut down.
The man in the video sounded very concerned in my opinion of loosing control of you.

You are the comment-meister!

Hey Em!
Great video. Very honest and moving.
I am 'out' to my friends and family though, apart from a few, none of them know how to find me on YT. I don't think many of them really understand why I do it but they take on board that I've e-met a lot of people from different parts of the world and that I find that exciting.
I get the distinct feeling that Brits around my age (33) in the UK don't really get the whole YT community thing, as opposed to the States for example.
Cheers!

This video made me so sad... it must be hard to not have support in your (i hesitate to say your real life)... some people just don't get that we are part of a support group.. they don't understand how real the relationships, support and accountability are...
thank you for this

Oh em, now you've done it! I'm going to have to respond as well. I don't know how I missed this when it came out but I did.
Response coming up - even though very late.
Good for you girl, stand up for what you believe in.
:)

Well strangely enough, two guys in the staff and another regular customer were all youtubers so...

I think weird people are interesting :) I personally don't listen to negativity so I'm not really under cover. But I don't do weigh-in because I don't want my dumb ass ex boyfriend''s negative comments "you weigh that much". Good for you for not letting a man stop you from doing what you want. It's not like you are naked on the vids..

The thing I enjoy the most about YT is watching people's progress in their video making and seeing them get better over time. I think your boyfriend is a lot insecure. From my experience people kinda go through phases with YT. When you start getting into it. You go through a couple of months of being obsess with it then that fades overtime. It happens to everybody that gets into YT. I seen it from geeky kids to glamorous diva like singers. It's just like "hey people want to watch me"..
-
I'm undercover. I make videos but I'm not in them. A lot of people don't get it though but I use to spend as much time watching TV as I do now watching YT videos. From my experience on this site. I think people that make videos become more self confidence overtime because they learn how to express themselves better. You pick up a lot of skills about editing and filming. You learn a lot about marketing even if you are not into building a big audience. It's hard to make an interesting video.

Thanks! I guess on the issue of "coming out", if it ain't broke, don't fix it right?
:-)
Oh I'm very much "out". Pretty much everyone knows. Hell, at one point after work some of my mates put my youtube videos on all the screens in a pub o0
My mother and father also knows, however they dont know the adress for them, which is because I talk about subjects that I at times dont feel comfortable sharing with them.

Wow.. they put your videos on the pub screens? Well... it's publicity I guess?
Glad you can be out.
I have friends who know but choose not to watch my videos and I like this.

Yes, we all have to seperate our audience here i suppose. Good to find you from Krum and keep expressing your yourself with abandon. Real friend should embrace your creations, and help with ideas and want to be included! I totally relate to your situation!!

Hey, Thanks for watching and commenting! It's a shame really that people look on youtubing the way they do but, it's people that don't know / understand it that do this so.. understandable! Thank you :-)

Hi Em...
This is Chris, a friend of Jordan Krumbine. I have watched your vids and I must say, they are pretty awesome! The music, the angles, the editing, great stuff! My view on what you were talking about is that you are doing great things. Doing this IS creative and helping your life. Kudos to you! The people here aren't weird, and if they seem that way...it's only because they are truly creative. You are awesome! I shall subscribe!

Hey Chris, thank you!! Glad you like them. Any friend of Jordan's must be an awesome guy! Do you know him in real life? What's he like? (Would love to know if it's similar to on camera!)
Thanks for this cool comment and for the support. Em x
