When Margot, 28, meets Daniel, their chemistry is intense and immediate. But Margot suppresses her sudden attraction: she is happily married to Lou, a celebrated cookbook writer. When Margot learns that Daniel lives across the street from them, the certainty about her domestic life shatters. She and Daniel steal moments throughout the steaming Toronto summer, their eroticism heightened by their restraint. Margot finally gives in to desire and in doing so, discovers some unsettling truths about herself. Swelteringly hot, bright and colorful like a bowl of fruit, Take This Waltz leads us, laughing, through the familiar but uncharted question of what long-term relationships do to love, sex, and our images of ourselves.

  • is there anything more cliche than criticizing a movie you haven't seen. Is there anything more cliche than using the word "drivel."

  • @deLobt I kind of took it as her actually knowing that he is there but choosing not to acknowledge him or her attraction to him. If she doesn't look at him, her feelings for him are not really there... To me the subtle looks on her face indicated that she knew he was there. Who knows though. It probably makes more sense in the context of the film as a whole.

  • Gotta love Michelle Williams.

  • She invites him he follows because they have chemistry

  • The only reason why I wanted to see this film was because I thought this was a comedy. Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman are in the movie, so this must be funny, but this trailer sucked and looked depressing. It was weird. What genre is this movie? Also, why is this guy following this chick in the middle of the night? Weird and Creepy.

  • oh great, now i want to see this >:(

  • is this literally happening in the movie or is it a symbolic moment of him being in her thoughts? it's kind of silly that she wouldn't notice him for that long, including being on the same bus. he'd have to walk past her to sit there. love the score. does anyone know who's composing?
