I agee. One of my favorites of all time...I would run away with Riegert.
-
This is one of the greatest scenes in the history of movies.
Riegert shows himself to be in the same acting league as Spencer Tracy. You can't see that he's acting. Sam becomes real.
I never get tired of this film.

I remember this movie, I always thought Amy Irving was a pretty girl, It was a nice sweet easy going movie, I wanna watch it now

Suzzy Roche's acting is so natural in these scenes.
-
The great thing about this movie is how the characters love OTHER people (the older, the un-sexy) in their lives, not just each other.
-
Been in love with Suzzy ever since I saw this as a child. My mother took me to see Crossing Delancey on a double bill and I was like, 'Wow a chick who loves baseball!' Little did I realize as I got older, it wouldn't be as true!

Wow- realized that Suzzy Roche of the music group is the actress - top notch recording artist and top notch actress - not bad. The Roches music is so perfect in this movie.

@csanant1 And I with Ms.Irving, she is so gorgeous.
I love this movie and Peter Riegert is cute - but his voice! He sounds like Gilbert Gottfried. Izzy's friend is so unattractive. She's chowing on chips while trying to make a first impression. Ugh.
@MelodyOfVision Can you post the entire film? It's hard to find! :)

@DickieAnginson - *LOL* on the Gilbert Gottfried voice - I never thought of it that way! Peter Riegert is so handsome that even his voice sounds handsome to me. :o)
I like the Marilyn Cohen character too - I think she was just stuck in an uncomfortable situation. So what do you do in an uncomfortable situation? You eat chips!
I can't post the whole film - I'll get shut down. You may want to write to YouTube to get them to work with the owners to provide it free or for rent at a low cost.

This was filmed at Lucy's Mexican restaurant on Columbus Avenue and 84th st. That's my old neighborhood. It was the first restaurant in the wave of gentrification. It's long gone.

@rootedsorrow - Thank you so much for the info! I tried to track down as many of the restaurants in this movie as I could. All gone as you say. :o( The only eatery from the movie still around is Papaya King which can be seen on the "Songs for Izzy's Birthday" clip (watch?v=jF6gr3tdbmM).
