I think Jesus was a pretty funny guy.

God, and therefore Jesus, have to have a sense of humor. We are created in His image and we have the capacity for laughter, and it feels so purely GOOD to really laugh, it can't be anything but a blessing from God.

Plenty of humor in the Old Testament too - think humor next time you read Esther! Admittedly, Haman probably failed to see the humor.....

There's also the part about "straining out a gnat but swallowing a camel." Jesus would've spoken those words in Aramaic. In Aramaic, the word for camel is "gamla," and the word for gnat is "galma." He was making a pun.

Every time I read Jesus's rebuttal towards the Pharisees, I can't help but laugh. He's defiantly a great guy.

@Stinakins42 Thanks for your comment, Stinakins! I was hoping someone would take the bait to destroy my joke ;) . Then I could agree with them and say, "indeed, with man it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible." May God bless you and your ministry.

@ourgodislove316 Clever!! Okay, so put the camel under, identify that single cell, extract it from the camel's uterus, and then pass it through the eye of a needle. Guess what: preforming a ridiculous and expensive surgery (that may not even succeed) is still harder than getting a rich man in heaven! My point: it's ridiculously hard to get a person who thinks they have everything to see that they only have worldly goods that will someday spoil, so they need to turn their lives over to Jesus. :D

I solved it! Jesus was talking about a camel at the moment of conception! At that moment, the camel is only one cell and very small- small enough, perhaps, to fit through the eye of a needle!

@patty7beth well said
There is nothing disrespectful about acknowledging the humanity of Jesus.
People insisting on Christ as a monotone stiff-upper-lipped drone seem to think this depiction is somehow more "holy." Not true at all.

@Shrumins
Ok, the problem is you are using human logic to describe Jesus. The Bible says he was fully God and fully man, not half and half. You are right, Jesus wasn't 200% anything; he was 100% God and Man, but that doesn't mean he was 50/50. Go read Colossians 1:15-20 (pay special attention to vs. 19). Also read Colossians 2:8-9 and Hebrews 1:3. These explain Jesus being fully God and why you shouldn't use human logic to understand him. Also read John 1:1,14. These explain his humanity.
