(Best Syndication News) There are a couple construction projects moving forward in Pinon Hills and Phelan right now, including the library and fire station. The library was expected to be completed by last December but delays have pushed back that date. The good news is that construction is well underway right now.
Captain Bob Kittleman with the San Bernardino County Fire Department will likely be at the Pinon Hills Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) meeting Thursday night. Expect an update on the progress of the fire station construction at that time. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year or possibly by mid summer.
Although the fire station is located on the east side of Beakley, it is technically in Pinon Hills. Right now the personnel are divided among the Cal Fire Station in Phelan and the ranger station on Mountain Road in Pinon Hills.
The community center is located right behind the fire station on Mountain Road. John Richardson tells Best Syndication that there will be a special presentation by county roads at the MAC meeting. Richardson and Brandon Biggs, among other county road personnel are expected to be at that meeting.
Both Richardson and David Zook are members of First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelts staff. Last week it was announced that Zook will be replacing Paula Nowicki as chief of staff. Nowicki will be retiring after 25 years of public service.
