Debate: Stealth Jihad - Terror From Within (1 of 8)

The media regularly reports about the danger to America from Islamic terrorists. But what about potential threats from inside this country?

Radical Muslims are looking for ways to bring sharia law to the United States.

Are Muslims in America victims of Islamophobia? Warnings from the Council on American-Islamic Relations seem to suggest just that.

CAIR claims to be the nation's leading Muslim civil rights group. But the group's critics say it's focused more on making Islam a dominant force than with fighting bigotry.

In a 1998, CAIR founder Omar Ahmad told the San Ramon Valley Herald, "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

Others point to a 1991 memo by the radical Muslim Brotherhood challenging American Islamic groups.

The memorandum, presented as evidence during a terrorism trial last year, reads that these Muslim groups "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands" until Islam reigns supreme."

For radical Muslims, that means pushing an aggressive, pro-Islam agenda that's been increasingly successful in recent years: Muslim cab drivers in Minneapolis refuse to carry passengers who have alcohol in their possession. Public schools schedule prayer breaks to accommodate Muslim students. Pork is banned in the workplace - the list goes on.

@pamination Under islamic rule a non muslim such as a jew or chrisitan was allowed to live as long as they accepted 'Dhimmi Status' which is basically a sub-human status. Jews and chrisitanis had to pay Jizya (tax for non accepting islam) to the muslims during a ceremony during which non muslims were publicly humilated. Jews and christians were not allowed to ride on camels or horses and the building of churches was banned. Let's tell things as they really are!

@Lemmetry1234 Who cares how you classify Islam? Whether it's a religion or a political ideology as you claim, why does it matter? The question is whether it promotes good or not, and it obviously does, if you know anything about its true teachings. You probably get hung up on images created by the media stooges and Islamophobes seen in this video rather than reality. It's all propaganda, and it seems to be working on you. With war comes propaganda; the US has been at war against Muslim lands.

@freedombase Do you think antisemitism is also an invented concept to silence critics? If you do, then it shows the kind of person you are. If you don't, then you should try to be fair.

I invite people to honestly and objectively debate ideas that are central to Islam, but the key here is honesty and objectivity. If you just call out Islam and ignore the same things in Judeo-Christian sources, that's not fair at all. Islamophobia is hate-driven rather than fact-driven. That much is clear.

McCarthyism and witch hunts both ended up falling by the wayside. They were ultimately impotent movements that people began to see as hype. Likewise, Islamophobia will eventually give way to true understanding.
