T.J. Austin (G.I JOE: Rise of Cobra) interview at Tony Tarantino's VIP BASH Party at Social Club in Hollywood,Ca USA August 23, 2009
Interview by Abbey Scott

Though he is now living the Hollywood lifestyle, T.J. Austin was born in Australia. He spent his early life growing up in the "Down Under", but his family would later make the move to the United States and T.J. would finish being raised in Texas.

T.J. lived a very active lifestyle before coming to Hollywood. He has even won numerous professional rodeo titles, has raced motorcycles professionally, and has played rugby at the semi-pro level.

These adrenaline-filled experiences allowed T.J. a natural transition into film work as a stuntman. He landed work in 2001 in the popular "American Outlaws", giving him the opportunity to work with rising stars Colin Farrell and Scott Caan. T.J. has continued working as a stuntman through productions such as Discovery's "Going for the Green" and this year's blockbuster "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra".

Despite having natural abilities and finding great success as a stuntman, T.J. is still pursuing greater roles in films and television. Last year, 2008, saw him land a recurring role on the long-running daytime soap "The Young and the Restless". He has also worked with the action-packed "Heroes", the critically-acclaimed series "Dexter", and the fast-rising CBS hit "The Mentalist".

These experiences in television have led to even greater opportunities for T.J., as that same year he found work with the Jim Carrey hit "Yes Man", and this year has seen him land roles in numerous films in production, including the highly-anticipated "2012" and "Warrior".

With his growing exposure in television and films, T.J. has landed various commercial opportunities with such notable names as Wrangler, Yamaha, the Travel Channel, Bailey Hats, and has achieved notable fame as the new face of Brut Deodorant

  • Sat next to him and his son just the other day at Saddle Ranch while he pitched two new projects. Seemed like a pretty cool guy.
