Ludwig van Beethoven's "Yorckscher Marsch" is named in honor of Prussian General Ludwig Graf Yorck von Wartenburg.
This ceremony is several hundred years old and has nothing to do with "Nazis" from Third Reich or ww2.

@Rick2010100 The north west Low German people have also normaly no problem in conversation with Dutch people, because the older one can also speak Low German or Low Dutch, witch is nearly similar. Actually Low German is die out, because the actual young generation isent speaking it anymore. I actually can understand everything, but not talk fluently or write it - my mother still can and do it with her sisters by occasion.

@Rick2010100 I had many German friends when I lived in Panama in Central America many years ago. We had a lot of parties and fun! My German friends were funny and always loved to party! It was great! Many of them worked for Deusche Bank and the Swiss Bank. Great people! A few worked for some shipping firms out of Bremen and Bremerhaven. Ahh it was a blast!

That is fascinating. If I remember, in school we were taught Haut Deusche. However, my instructor was from Latvia and she was trying to teach us German in English!!!!!!

@Polecatmtn The most people in Visconsin who are able to speak German have a South German (Swabian) dialekt and he is more from the north, were the people have spoken Low German (Platt) if they talked dialekt. Nice example:

The people in the Rhineland are Low German (Platt) based, but early spoke High German, because the Prussian King ordered this as school language. The Rhineland has been to Prussia.

@Rick2010100 I can understand your friend's frustration with the German spoken in Wisconsin. It is probably an "older" form of "low German". I will ask my son's girlfriend as she speaks German fluently. My neighbor down the street from me works for Seimens and does translations for the company.

@Polecatmtn Today i use the PC keyboard instead of the mad damned IPad keypad. A friend of me has moved to Visconsin because he married there. In his region live a lot of German origined people, but they mostly speak a German dialekt and wonders if he can only unsterdstud them with dificulties, because they believe that their special dialekt is standart German. Since the 1900´ century the High German is the standart speach in Germany and today mostly only older can speak dialekt.

@Rick2010100 Yes, Rick, you are right. Baron Von Steuben trained the first American soldiers during the Revolution. He was Prussian and George Washington made him the first American Army Inspector General. Many Americans spoke German for decades until there was a move against speaking German during WWI. I have Christening documents for my family that are written in German but they lived in North Carolina USA!

@Polecatmtn Naturly, this has been the mayor reason why the poll in the US about their language has been faked to establsish e eng. nguange. The polle has been 66& for teh German laguage, but been manipulated by some other Reeasons. BTW the US Military was founded by tehe prussians and therfore the "on Steuben Parade" is still be hold. V.Steuben just introdiced the Prussian military basics into the new formed US Military. Therrefore the codex of Westpoint is still a prusian one

@Silberkrone666 Mein Lieber du vergisst dabei eine Kleinigkeit. Der Iran ist der größte Unterstützer des Terrorismus. Sie versorgen Terrorzellen mit material und Waffen und Geld. Also sollten wir schondarauf achten dass nicht auch Kernmaterial in die Hände von Terroristen fällt, sonst könnte es eine böse Überraschung auch bei uns in Deutschland geben.
