I just don't get it. Base price for a Mac Pro is $3.3K for, basically, an ATX , 6GB ECC Ram, 2x QC @2.66 Xeon, a 640GB HD, OSX and 100$ worth of alu- hardware.
Then you bottleneck it with a gt120 or 4870 (wtf...), or, ofcourse, you can buy a quadro fx 4800 for another $1.8K (2 Gens older).
No offence to Apple fanboys, but paying so much for bad price/performance ratio (talking about Mac Pro specifically), makes you a bad consumer. Bad consumers limit technology progression. Wake the f*ck up...
Well, I would never need the full tower mac so I can cross that off my list. For me, its an iMac and an iPhone. I already have top of the line printers on the pc side that would work with the apple, also already have top of the line external hard drives that will work with the mac.
So iMac and iPhone for me. I wouldn't add all the software you did, dont need aperture for instance as I am not a professional photographer lol. Dont need any mac classes as I can figure it out myself.
spend allot one one computer, have it last ALLONG time, don't need and anti-virus. and little or no repairs, easy to use. OR get a computer for a low price, spend allot of money on repairs, and decent anti-virus, and frustrating to use. I know which one sounds better to me, and I have used both windows, and apple. but then again i think if you grew up using windows, and your parents did too, then you assume that's the best computer out there. vise versa too.
Just being honest, here's how I view Mac and PC. Mac is let's say a Ferrari, it's for fun, a grown up toy. A PC is more like a Ford, it's a work car. Mac to me is a toy, and it's an amazing computer for editing videos, and a PC is a great work computer. But that doesn't mean Mac's aren't for work, remember those guys who have to work on Ferrari's and test drive them ; )
