Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra reports from the Gulf of Aden where the national coastguard struggles to protect commercial vessels from the constant threat of hijacking.

Come on man...it is well known that there are members of the coastguard is helping pirates by supplying them with fuel, weapons, and allowing them to use Yemen territorial waters as a safe haven.

i tend to agree with some of you guys!? But for those who critisize the stability in the region and the safety of the yemeni coustgourd in the Aden Golf are completely mistaken. Because it is either spported the the niegboring countries(they know who they are) or by (Iratrian) government who is still holding the groudges against the Yemenis. Conclusion, instigators who are causing the truble in the Yemen region (BROTHERS! YOU ARE DIGGING YOUR OWN GRAVES!) BECAREFUL!

The Yemeni coastguard is one of the crappest in the world. Due to corruption the coastguard would probably help the pirates by turning a blind eye if they are guaranteed a cut in the profits.
