@Polkiuu if she put as much emotion in all the songs she sang as she did that anime version she would be world renowned as one of the best singers to have ever sang. I give the strings players a shout out for puting their hearts in playing this song. the way they played is what motivates people to play music of their own ^^

For the people going on about how this isn't as strong as the anime version: It's supposed to be that way. Chihaya's voice was strong and emotional in the anime because she had just overcome her biggest obstacle, and it was the moment she truly shined.
Regardless I love both versions, they really swell a feeling of hope inside me.

This song is definitely best sung by Chihaya (Asami Imai). Her voice just nails the notes so perfectly.

in the anime, this song was written by the rest of the idols, for Chihaya. you can tell the song is about loss and getting the strength to continue on. it's meant to be uplifting, it's just that Chihaya's circumstances makes it tug at your heartstrings. those that have experienced loss in the past can especially relate well to it. I personally think Chihaya (Asami Imai) sings Yakusoku wonderfully well. the episode actually made me tear. a. big. manly. tear. just one. yeah.
While this is no doubt a beautiful version, I prefer the anime version more. Much more emotion was put into it, and whenever all of the idols sing together I get chills.

@CatMuto Well, heart wrenching doesn't necessarily have to be exceptional to happiness. Tears of joy and that sorta thing. Judging by the lyrics, the general mood of the song is actually supposed to be rather uplifting.
