I appreciate your enthusiasm in teaching. It is always a challenge to keep student interest, and you are doing a good job with teaching aids.
Tip: If you have a problem with 'over penetration', then use subsonic/squib/sneeze loads.
Changing to a low pressure .45acp is nice, but now over 200 gr bullet with more punch (and can still overpenetrate wood/drywall).

Just a correction: the amount of powder does NOT determine how hot the load is.
There are a variety of powders out there, and they have distinct properties.
The amount of powder in each cartridge is measured in 'grains' (a measure of weight).
I can have 5 gains of powder in a 9mm cartridge (American Select), which isn't a fast powder. I might be pushing a 125grain LRN bullet at 1,100fps.
Now, I can load the same cartridge with only 3.4grains of Tightgroup powder at higher pressure and 1,250fps.
