ALL NEW! To close out this uploading session, we have this 1997 Game Show Network rerun of Treasure Hunt, complete with full credit roll... One thing I notice watching this show is that the contestant coordinators were very selective in whom they had play the game, much different than the more diverse Price is Right and Lets Make a Deal...

  • For 1981, the credit roll was pretty cool since it didn't jiggle or move unlike the Barry and Enright shows like Tic Tac Dough and Joker's Wild. And yes it did remind me of Benson's credit roll.

  • @Dodgerfn5 I think Barris was the first game show packager to permanently go the chyron route... All other packagers at this point, for the most part, were still using chroma-keyed credit roll... I think Goodson first used Chyron for Card Sharks in 1985, and Joker's Wild and Tic Tac Dough went to Chyron in 1984, but oddly switched back to the older technology after about a year... :)

  • WREYtube do you have a Pepsi commercial with Andres Cantor from 1995 when Andres shouted GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! when soccer player and audience heard the noice shouting.

  • @AlvaJr Don't recall that one... I'll be on the lookout for it... :)

  • This was the same music that Chuck used on the pilot of the revival for Dollar A Second in the early 80's.

  • This show is one of the reasons October 97 to April 98 was not a dark period for GSN. Good times, wish they would've kept this on the schedule with the G-T shows when they got those back.

  • @WREYtube - Goodson 1st began using chyron credits on a regular basis as early as 1982 w/ Richard Dawson's version of Family Feud, then followed up w/ Super Password in 1984. Bob Stewart hopped on the chyron credits as early as 1980 w/ Chain Reaction, then he followed up w/ the $50,000 Pyramid in 1981 and The New $25,000 Pyramid in 1982.

What I also find odd is that Family Feud on ABC used Chyrons while another ABC Goodson show Trivia Trap (also 1984) was using mechanical scrolls.

  • I can remember 2 things about this credit roll: first, the credits were chyroned in the same font that Witt/Thomas/Harris used for shows like Benson and the final season of Soap. Second, most of the technical staff later worked at Paramount Studios on shows like "Entertainment Tonight," "Webster" and "Family Ties."
