-Oil is not your enemy. If you use plant-based botanicals and serums, you'll find that not only is your skin hydrated with the right kind of oils, but you'll notice a luminosity that you won't get from your moisturizer. I tend to look for products with rosehip, lavender, chamomile, and Vitamin E.

-Do not use a granule exfoliant. Not only will it increase redness, it's too abrasive for your sensitive skin. After a while of use, I found that my skin was ruddy, dry, stripped of essential oils and left with pustules (the pimples that don't contain puss)! Opt instead for a cream or lactose-based exfoliant.

-After exfoliating, consider following up (immediately!) with a clay-based masque. When you exfoliate, you're removing a layer of dead skin cells and opening your pores, so what an amazing opportunity to get in there with a deep cleansing mask, which will absorb oil, rid your skin of dirt and impurities. After I exfoliate, I apply a clay masque for ten minutes and follow up with a serum/plant-oil based concentrate.
