Took an epidural to video tape my surgery. These are the last moments of a rod removal surgery that I had in Ukraine. If anyone can tell me if this is still how it's done in the states, I'd like to hear. My knee has never been the same. (You can also see one of the nurses playing Zoro with rod after it comes flying out of my leg).
Enjoy!
@MrPulamea There can be risks. If you get a broken leg again while having that rod in there, complications can occur. I recommend everyone remove them.

thank you for this video!! I`ve been waiting to see something like that! I got my rodding in Macedonia, it must have been a bit like that. For the removal, in Germany, I´m considering the epidurial... but I don`t know if they actually allow you to watch. If they do, I´ll post the video... :-)

I had this surgery just done due to an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to my calf that shattered my tibia and fibula. Based on what I was told, it was done the same, however, the tool was a little different. that piece sliding on the rod was more like a hammer-weight attached to the pole. It clamps shut on the rod and was used to hammer the rod in. I must say, you are crazy for wanting to be awake during that... I would want my ass out cold!!!
