If you want it she's available on the Download Station . Model by tcorken from the DLS; cheers for the fantastic model tcorken!

This one is undoubtedly one of my favorite engines; the class 80 is the only diesel multiple unit to be based on MK2 Coaches. They were built between 1974-1975 then entered service in 1976 and some are still in service. When Northern Ireland Railways is ultimately taken over by the newer engines hopefully some of these diesel electric multiple units will be preserved because like many engines in the UK I am very fond of these too. Here's to the good old Growler!

If you to see the real thing in service with it's current color scheme here is a link :)

  • Thanks for the kind words Damocles. Glad you like the Class 80 set. Took me about a year and half to build, off and on. If anyone wants to re-skin it to the many different liveries this set wore up to current times, they are more than welcome to do so.

I will shortly begin making a CAF3000 and I have a Hunslett that should be released shortly.

    regards, Tony

  • @tcorken You're welcome this is great model with wonderful sound effects :) I didn't know you were on youtube :D As for the CAF3000 sounds awesome; it'll be quite a project :) It's nice of you to allow people to reskin this to the other liveries but if they distribute their reskin anywhere online ; they should definetely ask you first :) BTW what is the Hunslet; is it a steam engine? :)

  • so do i, think il be having a travel on those when i visit later in the year, thanks

  • @ts021ify BTW if you want to see them in their current colour scheme ; there's a link in the description to someone else's video showing the real thing in action :)

  • We had the old DEMUs where l was a driver in England, ours were from the 50s and based on the old BR MK1s mind.lt'd be good to see an 80 class preserved, they shouldn't go the way of the UTA 70s.l see yours had the old Westinghouse air pump like ours did,and obviously the same engines, but our cabs were completely different.

  • The class 80's are gradually being phased out by the newer engines which is why I hope some live to see preservation.

  • @ts021ify I have no idea about Diagrams but yes from what I've gathered they still run but any still in service on the Northern Ireland Railways Network are now silver and blue to match the newer class 3000's :)

Wikipedia has information on these engines too :)

  • very nice, do these still run? if so do you know where i could get the info? i.e. diagrams?

  • i found it thanks.

  • Because there's no link I can give you as you have it to get it through the DLS search engine
