I think this was the first film clip made by The Triffids . The clip was made in 1981 (the exact date may be provided later) by Tim Dwyer who was a student at WAIT (now Curtin Uni) and friend of David. He made this clip for a student project. Various people were invited to attend the studio performance which was then cut and edited with some outside footage. I think the band mimed to a soundtrack. There was some direction that members of the audience should get up and take over the roles of the performers and create general chaos. The footage of the studio performance which was not included in this clip has not been been preserved. The clip features Will Akers who played bass after Byron Sinclair left the band. Mark Peters is on drums (Alsy had taken a break from the band at this time) and Margaret Gillard on keyboards. Rob McComb plays guitar. In the audience you may spy Richie Gunning, Paul Bolger, Alsy McDonald, Byron Sinclair, Penny Morrison, Kathryn Roberts, Anna Roberts, Chris Newall and maybe others. If you blink you may miss somebody. I bumped into Tim sometime ago and suggested he should get the clip converted to digital form. He kindly obliged and the people at Diskbank were able to preserve the clip for posterity. It is hard to believe that David travelled so far artistically from this point in such a short time.
