I'm a Kiwi, and grew up very much in union country. I'd heard of league, and seen bits and pieces of games, but this was the first full game I ever watched. What an introduction, it made me fall in love with the 13-man code. Greatest game I've ever seen, and one of my favourite childhood memories.

This is the greatest GF of all time(I am still having trouble getting over it lol). What great names in both sides. Siro's try before halftime and Balmain had 1 hand on the cup. Benny's drop goal hits the cross bar. Mals ankle tap on McNeil and then Chika Fergusson scores. Seeing Siro & Blocker on the sideline and Steve Jackson's try in OT. Unbelievable. I always reckon Kevin Hardwick would have looked good as the Raiders mascot.
Those were the days with the afternoon final.

Yes, and Warren Ryan *still* hasn't apologised for taking off Roach and Siro thus handing the game to the Raiders.
