The Kid is a 1921 American silent dramedy film written by, produced by, directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin, and features Jackie Coogan as his adopted son and sidekick. This was Chaplin's first full-length movie. It was a huge success, and was the second-highest grossing film in 1921.

  • Charlie Chaplin filmed it in the original Chinatown (Los Angeles) which became in 1939 the Union Train Station.

The location (Olvera St), where u see the little tramp and son tearful reunited, is the only one that survived in this area.

Today the street is a popular Mexican marketplace. Tourists who walk by it might not know that the most iconic and touching scene ever captured on film was shot there. - Herve

  • omg brilliant you deserve at least 1 million subs

  • Several films were shot near Olvera St. and the Plaza area by Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.

Many locations can still be seen today including where Chaplin ran around the corner from Los Angeles St. onto the plaza for his 1917 short 'Easy Street.'

Chaplin picks a pocket of a thief robing him in the middle of Sanchez Alley in the 1916 film 'Police' where he is also later seen walking down the nearby Ord St. in front of what is now the legendary eating establishment, 'Phillipe's'

  • This is beautiful.

  • sympa !

  • That is not only intersting, it is truly magnificent.......superb.

  • Always entertaining vids. Reconstructing the locations is facinating to watch.

  • Can't wait for The Goonies!! : )

  • @andy86i Actually that's Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles. Nice place to visit & eat.

  • whats the street? you know, it would be a nice idea to put in writing at the bottom the locations on your videos, in annotations. then you could have a look on google street view. :)
