Several films were shot near Olvera St. and the Plaza area by Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.
Many locations can still be seen today including where Chaplin ran around the corner from Los Angeles St. onto the plaza for his 1917 short 'Easy Street.'
Chaplin picks a pocket of a thief robing him in the middle of Sanchez Alley in the 1916 film 'Police' where he is also later seen walking down the nearby Ord St. in front of what is now the legendary eating establishment, 'Phillipe's'

@andy86i Actually that's Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles. Nice place to visit & eat.

whats the street? you know, it would be a nice idea to put in writing at the bottom the locations on your videos, in annotations. then you could have a look on google street view. :)
Charlie Chaplin filmed it in the original Chinatown (Los Angeles) which became in 1939 the Union Train Station.
The location (Olvera St), where u see the little tramp and son tearful reunited, is the only one that survived in this area.
Today the street is a popular Mexican marketplace. Tourists who walk by it might not know that the most iconic and touching scene ever captured on film was shot there. - Herve
