  • Ahhhhh, so nice, and so sad.... To bad your selling a luxury during a depression. Might have military application but I hope they can "float" their business at a loss for at least another 5 years until the economy picks up..

  • Good point, but I am not selling them, I am buying one.

  • @bekecool Nice, did you just get it standard or did you add the sea plane configuration or parachute or auto wing fold? And do you have a private pilot license or just a sport license?

  • @brandon35335 Haven't gotten to the "options selection" phase of the order process. They haven't even put one out the door yet. I have a private pilot license, but you only need a sport for this one.

  • @BlackAeronaut seems to fit JUST in side the class for a Seaplane now doesnt it? 1,430 lbs for seaplanes.

so yea any bigger and its not LSA any more the other issue you cant get the auto folding wings AND the retractable gear it puts it over weight its right on the web site

you pick one or the other to keep it under the 1430 weight limit

  • Looks impressive on the water and in the air. Seems to handle like a boat on the water.

  • @Elios0000 I'll see that and raise. Specs on the A-5:

    – Seats: 2

    – Maximum Takeoff Weight: 1430 lbs

    – Maximum Speed (Vh): 105 kts (120 mph)

Stall speed was a bit tougher to find, but they have it at 43 knots. Found it on their news page on their site. Scroll down until you find the heading "Engineering Updates" and it should be there.

  • @BlackAeronaut here right from the FAA web site

Maximum gross takeoff weight—1,320 lbs, or 1,430 lbs for seaplanes.

Maximum stall speed—51 mph (45 knots) CAS

Maximum speed in level flight with maximum continuous power (Vh)—138 mph (120 knots) CAS

    Single or two-seat aircraft only

  • @BlackAeronaut im pretty sure im right the limits are 139mph and ONE passenger

and 1400lb weight limit so making a 4 place 300hp ver would take it out of the Light Sport aircraft cat. dont think im right still? call up the FAA and ask what the restrictions are for a Light Sport Aircraft they will tell you the same thing

  • @Elios0000 May wanna double-check your facts. No, really.

  • @JcXtreme72 it wouldnt fit in the light sport aircraft cat. any more

one of the restrictions is only 1 passenger and 150kts airspeed

  • @jgdogg441 that wonder is thanks to carbon fiber
