This is an older model. The newer ones all have square transoms.
I think the little flaps are to make the bottom of the boat flat. It has a little plate that screws into the back end where you can mount a motor. There's another video showing this model where they put it in.

I noticed that there is a square piece at the end of the boat. What is it for?
Anyway to mount a small, e.g. 2 HP outboard motor?
